Found this picture today while I was researching for my sermon for this week.
It's a stone manger that can be found in Bethlehem and its a reminder of Jesus' birth and the manger that served as his cradle. Not your typical nativity scene manger!
Nailed it. And when these were dry, shepherds would wrap newborn lambs in swaddling cloths, and lay them in these stone mangers, to keep them from stumbling and injuring themselves, and thus disqualifying the lambs for sacrifice. Only sacrificial lambs were given this treatment.
